Law and Technology — Have we changed our mindset during the pandemic?

It is no novelty that our relation with Law has been changing during these times of uncertainty brought by the pandemics. It has raised our awareness and altered our perspective on the use of technology in the legal field.
We have an urge to discuss these topics, for they have much to increase in our practices.
Since Law is an extremely traditionalist field, we have throughout the years been taught that innovation and risk are harmful to legal security. However, they have always been there.

We cannot run away from findings and enthusiasts who can add up to our routine. Even so, Lawyers and Courts have been stuck in a system that does not work in our modern world anymore, and, unfortunately, suffering was the way to merge law and technology.

Now, attorneys can meet with their clients online and even solve their whole case in videoconferences with a judge, without ever facing them in person. So it is Artificial Intelligence, which can provide us with mechanisms to boost our pleadings, documents, and petitions.

I do not think we are meant to ignore these opportunities, given they may bring us closer to new people within our countries and even overseas, improving international negotiations and making feasible the approach of jurisdictions so far away we would, in the past, not even tackle.

We, as the new generation of lawyers, should learn from it and make the best of the resources we have. How about you, what do you think?
